Unit One: Intro to the class and What is Historical Thinking

MODULE 1 – What counts as evidence, How historians analyze evidence

Readings/Viewings

Discussion Board Post – due 8/28, 11pm, start a new thread in the Discussion Forum and title it with your name: Talk about something in world history (not US or Canada related) that interests you, and what kinds of history you find interesting (agriculture, technologies, geography, women, war, etc.). Please record a 2-3 minute audio or video with your response, and introduce yourself in it.

Attach a file in .mp3 or .mp4 formats, or link to the file that you’ve uploaded to OneDrive, Google Drive, etc. and shared. You can record on a smartphone or laptop — this does not need to be a high production quality recording. It just needs to be understandable. This assignment should take no longer than 1 hour. For technical issues, please post in the class Q/A discussion forum. If you’re tech savvy, feel free to help out a classmate if you have helpful suggestions.
